The Capricorn Spirit

The Capricorn Spirit is a crystal shop on Oxford Street in Levin, in the Horowhenua district of New Zealand’s Lower North Island, with a second store on Willis Street in central Wellington. Owner Susan set out to make it more than a retail shop: it’s a calm space where locals and travellers can slow down, browse and spend time with the stones.

Susan hand-picks every crystal herself, often spending a full day with each supplier, and looks for stones that are naturally and sustainably mined and not dyed or irradiated. Each morning she cleanses the stock with sound, white light and intention before the doors open. The shelves carry raw and tumbled crystals, crystal kit bags, pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets, pendulums and therapy wands, oracle and tarot cards, books, incense and singing bowl cushions, and the shop also runs events, ceremonies and holistic healing sessions.
